More manufactured Labor lies
Labor’s claim that the Coalition will cut $1.2 billion from the automotive industry is a lie concocted to distract from the terrible impact of Labor’s changes to FBT arrangements.
The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries is expected to release figures today showing orders to fleet leasing companies have slumped by a massive 26 per cent over the past month.
Kevin Rudd is swinging a wrecking ball through the Australian car industry with his rushed and ill-considered FBT changes.
This smash and grab raid on the car industry has already caused job losses and slugged working Australians and car sales.
The Coalition has been clear about its support for the car industry. We don’t just want the car industry to survive, we want it to prosper.
If the Coalition is elected on Saturday, Labor’s tax grab on the car industry, that is doing so much damage to jobs, sales and cash flow, will be null and void.
We are committed to ongoing support for the auto industry and will maintain the Automotive Transformation Scheme.
The Coalition will also abolish Labor’s disastrous Carbon Tax that has damaged households, businesses, jobs and the economy to help the car industry reduce costs and become more competitive.
The real threat to jobs and the long-term future of the Australian car industry is Kevin Rudd and his plans to keep the Carbon Tax and proceed with this $1.8 billion mugging of our local car industry.
