The Turnbull Government has today welcomed the news that Ingham Australia will invest $275 million to dramatically expand its operations in South Australia, creating 850 new jobs.

Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP said this is exactly what the Turnbull Government’s National Economic Plan will encourage, not only in South Australia, but across the country.

“This type of investment into Australia is exactly what the Turnbull Government’s plan for jobs and economic Growth will deliver,” Mr Pyne said.

“It’s imperative that we as a nation create an economic environment in which businesses like Ingham’s can grow, innovate and employ more Australians, and that is exactly what the Government is delivering,” Mr Pyne said.

“The announcement from Ingham’s today proves that South Australia is transitioning following the exit of the car manufacturing, with Ingham highlighting that it is particularly interested in hiring former GM Holden workers as it expands its operations.”

“Ingham’s is just one company increasing its workforce here in South Australia, there will be many more to come, especially with the announcement DCNS will move its Australian headquarters to South Australia by Christmas as it prepares to build the 12 future submarines,” Mr Pyne said.
