Minister welcomes recruitment drive

The Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP, today welcomed Saab Australia’s recruitment drive for a range of diverse defence industry skills in Australia.

Minister Pyne said the recruitment drive was all about developing careers in the Australian Defence environment, and would seek to increase their workforce by 250.

“This is a wonderful undertaking by Saab Australia who is looking to attract software, hardware, systems and cyber security engineers,” Mr Pyne said.

“Saab Australia has acknowledged that this recruitment drive is a direct result of the Government’s recent announcement mandating Saab’s Combat Management System across the Royal Australian Naval (RAN) fleet,” he said.

Mr Pyne said this recruitment drive follows on the heels of Saab’s recent announcement to expand its facilities in collaboration with UniSA, creating more than 200 new jobs in Adelaide alone.
