The city of Adelaide will benefit from a re-elected Turnbull Liberal Team with the announcement today of a $9.79 million commitment to revamp Memorial Drive.

“This redevelopment will be huge for the City of Adelaide, adding to the recent developments along the Torrens”, Mr Pyne said.

“Not only will it bring more tennis to this great state, but it will also serve as an entertainment hub for the city”.

The $9.786 million first stage ‘anchor project’ will ensure the tennis precinct and heritage of Memorial Drive is retained and includes construction of:

  • 1 x outdoor show court and 2 x match courts (enabling professional events as well as Davis Cup and Fed Cup to come back to Adelaide)
  • A national academy training venue with clay courts (enabling SA to continue to produce world class players), and
  • A walk of champions (profiling the historical position of the site and great South Australian players)
  • Realigned match courts to ensure a tournament ready venue

“The Turnbull Liberal Team is dedicated to building stronger communities across Australia. We understand that by investing in projects such as this one, we help grow a more vibrant and viable community,” Mr Colovic said.

A re-elected Turnbull Liberal Team will deliver jobs, growth and stronger communities.
