Keep safe this Australia Day

Australia Day is a chance for us to come together as a family and celebrate living in this country, the envy of the world.

Our community is built upon the hard work of all of us. However at this time it’s particularly appropriate to highlight the selfless work of our emergency services who look after us and keep us safe throughout the year.

As the son of a former royal flying doctor and as a passionate supporter of them over the years, I have seen the amazing work that this organisation does in our community.

You might not be aware that on Australia Day alone the Royal Flying Doctor Service will have 773 patient contacts, transport 150 people to hospitals and will speak to 400 people over their tele-health lines. A truly amazing effort but also a stark reminder to us all to make sure we keep safe and keep an eye out for each other.

Well done to the men and women of the Royal Flying Doctor’s service and to the countless others who work to keep us all safe and well.
