Hon David Jull

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the Hon David Jull.

I served with David Jull from 1993 to 2007 and shared a house with him and other MPs and Senators for all that time.  He was a terrific personality. 

David had a long and distinguished Parliamentary career serving from 1975 to 1983 as the Member for Bowman and then as the Member for Fadden from 1984 to 2007.

David was a senior Shadow Minister and Minister for Administrative Services. He was a great Parliamentarian who cared deeply about his constituency, the Parliament and the country.  He was a formidable media and Parliamentary performer.  He would have forgotten more than most people would ever know about aviation and tourism.

I had the pleasure of voting for him for Deputy Leader and Speaker and he would have done both well. With his booming voice and his imposing presence, “Jully” would have quieted a sometimes unruly House. 

I wish to express my condolences to David’s close knit family.
