Govt fumbles Gonski Review release
An important briefing for key stakeholders on the Gonski Review of school funding has been mysteriously cancelled five days before it was due to occur, said the Shadow Minister for Education, Christopher Pyne.
“The briefing for around 100 education stakeholders was to be held in Canberra on Sunday to outline the details of the Gonski Review before the official release on Monday,” Mr Pyne said.
“Suddenly cancelling the meeting today without any explanation has left many organisations planning to attend greatly inconvenienced,” he said.
“It seems Schools Minister Peter Garrett and his Ministerial side-kick, Brendan O’Conner show all the ability of the bumbling Keystone Kops by fumbling something this basic.
“With the Gonski Review taking almost two years and the Government having had the final copy since before Christmas, it seems the plan to release it should well and truly have been finalised by now,” Mr Pyne said.
