Defence Drumming Up Support For 2019 International Showcase

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) will showcase the Combined Military Bands of the ADF, the Pipes and Drums of the ADF, and Australia’s Federation Guard during performances at the 2019 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Sydney.

The production – announced today at the Sydney Opera House – will take place from 17-20 October 2019 at Sydney Olympic Park, and will include participants from several countries.

Minister for Defence, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP, said he was proud to see the ADF perform, once again, alongside Commonwealth and international acts as part of the world famous showcase of the Tattoo.

“The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is the longest running and most prestigious of all international tattoos, dating back to 1950,” Minister Pyne said.

“The Tattoo will see the assembly of a large international cast of talented performers from around the world. It is a unique celebration of music and military tradition in a colourful display of music, dance and military precision.

“I am delighted that the ADF will once again be part of this world-class event.”
