Albanese takes from the American President
So bereft of new ideas, the Leader of the House, Anthony Albanese was forced to take some lines from a movie speech given in the film The American President at the National Press Club today, according to Christopher Pyne, Manager of Opposition Business.
“Mr Albanese is usually the first to dish out the insults, but taking lines from a romantic comedy and swapping some names around is really quite embarrassing for an Australian Cabinet Minister addressing the National Press Club,” Mr Pyne said.
Mr Albanese should be given the chance to explain how this line from the movie The American President:
We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them... I promise you, Bob Rumson is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things and two things only: making you afraid of it and telling you who's to blame for it.
Appears to bear a striking resemblance to this quote from his speech to the National Press Club today:
In Australia we have serious challenges to solve and we need serious people to solve them. Unfortunately, Tony Abbott is not the least bit interested in fixing anything. He is only interested in two things: making Australians afraid of it and telling them who’s to blame for it.
“I can only hope this humiliating blunder doesn’t lead to Mr Albanese being the subject of immense ridicule in the media and when Parliament resumes,” Mr Pyne said.
