Handbrake on Hoon Driving

Hoon driving is increasingly becoming a problem not just in our neighbourhood, but in South Australia as a whole.  I believe it is time for action, not talk.

Hoon driving is increasingly becoming a problem not just in our neighbourhood, but in South Australia as a whole.  The State Government has so far failed to bring any longstanding action to combating this problem.  I believe it is time for action, not talk.

Road fatalities in general, are extremely saddening in our times.  Driving with a blood alcohol content of the legal limit of 0.05 increases the risk of a fatal crash by two times.  This is compared to driving while using a handheld mobile phone, which increases the risk of a fatal crash by four to nine times.  This risk increases with other distractions in the motor vehicle such as GPS, changing CDs and so on.

Hoon driving accompanied with these above factors makes driving all that more dangerous.

I am most interested in gathering information about this issue from constituents in my electorate.  I have formulated a survey which will allow me to pressure the State Government to take action to combat hoon driving.

Survey – Please see the survey and return it to my office either by email or by mail (429 Magill Road St Morris).

Article – I have also written an article in the Sunday Mail about this issue, which you can read here.

YouTube – I have made a short video about hoon driving. See the video here.
